The UMM Islamic Faculty held its prime lecture on Thursday (5/19) in the senate meeting room. It took “Meraih Sukses di Perguruan Tinggi” as the theme. It was for the scholarship program students and delivered by the UMM Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Sujono, M. Kes. The students were teachers and officers who had not gotten the degree yet and they would learn at the Islamic Studies department.
In that chance, Sujono motivated the students to continue their study and take master or doctoral program after they have finished their degree at UMM. He also explained about the UMM lecturing system. "You need your self-confidence, goals, chances, and worship. So we can prove to others that the UMM alumni are able to compete," said he.
The students were expected to manage their schedule. Sujono suggested that managing their prayers was the key. He believed if someone could manage their prayer times, he would be discipline.
Miftahul, one of the students, was happy for he could get the scholarship from the Religion Ministry. He hoped that the scholarship could improve his profession as a teacher. "I hope I can join the teacher certification later. The most important thing now is that I should study," said he.
Then it was closed by Sujono. He said to the students that being responsible, thinking positively, and being brave to take any risks were the key of succes. (han/nas/t_ris)
