Two Mahad Discuss about The Arabic Learning Methods

Two mahad of Asia Muslim Charity Form (AMCF), mahad Abdurrahman Bin Auf UMM and mahad Umar Bin Khatab Surabaya, held a refreshing Arabic teaching at UMM BAU Hall, Friday (2/11). The event which was attended by 20 Arabic lecturers was aimed to strengthen the skills of Arabic teaching methodologies.

One of the keynote speakers from UMM, Drs. Abdul Haris, MA, said that the event was important mean to have silaturahim among the Arabic lecturers. Besides, those institutions intended to have similar perception in using the literature of Al Arabiyah and Baina Yadaik.

The event was divided into two sessions. The first session was methodology enrichment which was in form of Forum Group Discussion (FGD). "Any problems related to the teaching process are discussed in this forum. Then, we will try to find out the solutions," said Haris. dicarikan solusinya,” ungkap Haris. While the second session was the book inroduction, delivered by Urik Bahrudin, LC, MA.

From that event, the conclusion was about the enrichment of various teaching process for students. Deciding the priority in teaching process, such as the material, time, material pointing, and methods, was also important.

Haris explained further that the event was more about the lecturers' problems and the teaching process. So far, most of the lecturers who taught were the graduates from Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, or Sudan.

“At least, they graduated from Islamic and Arabic institutions, or LIPIA. It belongs to King Abdul Azis University, and it uses Arabic in teaching process," said Haris.

MahadAbdurrahman Bin Auf in UMM, said Haris, still needed those who were interested in it. There were two classes, reguler and weekend classes. And the weekend class was the most favorite one. It was hoped that the people would be interested in joining the open mahad. (rwp/nas/t_ris)
