Pembukaan shortcourse akuntansi syariah untuk calon sarjana jurusan Akuntansi Fakultas Ekonomi (FE) UMM.

For the third time, Accounting department of UMM held Sharia Accounting Short Course. "It is held through the cooperation with Bank Muamalat," said the Chief of  Accounting Lab, Ihyaul Ulum, SE, MSi.

The event was followed by 120 students for three days, Wednesday-Friday (1/19-21) in BAU Hall. The speakers were the Secretary General of Ikatan Ahli Ekonomi Islam (IAEI) Dr. Agustianto, MA, a representative of Dewan Standar Ikatan Akuntansi Indonesia (IAI)  for sharia accounting Drs. Wiroso, MBA, and from Bank Muammalat,Yuniar Endrawanto, SE.

Ulum explained that the the accounting experts were really  highly demanded.  It was because the sharia banks' development were not only monopolyzed by the Islamis local banks but also non-Islamic-based foreign banks.

The Chief of the department Dra. Siti Zubaidah, MM, hoped that the event could make the students ready to get the works. "First time you apply in accounting field, you will be asked if you have already had short course," said Siti.

In his speech, the Vice rector I Prof. Dr. Sujono, M.Kes hoped that the UMM students' abilities could make them competitive to face the global development. "The students should have the proper abilities, behaviour, and competence related to background education they have in order to apply in a company," said he.

Agustianto said that only thos who understand about the market, could do trading. It was aimed to avoid riba. Meanwhile, learning fiqh muamalah was a must for moslem. “It is because fiqih muamalah is the basic and crucial thing in Islam, and none is not involved," said he. In muamalat principes, it was stated that all kinds of muamalah are allowed. Meanwhile, the Islamic economics does not allow gambling, aniyaya, gharar, haram, riba, ikhtinaz or money hoarding, and bathil.

The muamalah principes were elastic and able to develop based on the era, so there might be any possibility that ijtihad would happen. But, basically those principes were for the human welfare. "So, in understanding  fiqh muamalah, it should be accompanied by other sharia science approaches," added Agustianto. (rwp/nas/t_ris)
