Regional Muhammadiyah of South Sulawesi donates Balebo Boarding School

Makassar - Chairman of regional executive of Muhammadiyah South Sulawesi, Drs. KH.Alwi Uddin, M.Ag accompanied by Vice chairman of Muhmmadiyah South Sulawesi, HM.Yunus Kadir, Prof.Dr.H.Gagaring Pagalung, M.Ek.Ak (Treasurer of PWM Sulawesi) , Husni Yunus (Chairman of MPM Muhammadiyah Sulawesi), as well as other officials handed donation of at least twenty-one million dollars that was received directly the Director of Boarding school of Muhammadiyah Balebo, Drs.H.Akbar at Da'wah Muhammadiyah Sulawesi Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan no. 38 Makassar, on Saturday (08/13/2011).

KH.Alwi Uddin, chairman of Muhammadiyah South Sulawesi, said that this assistance was a sense of concern of regional Muhammadiyah in seeing the development of Muhammadiyah school at Balebo which since its establishment in 1980 had not met electricity facilities. Moreover, a number of 23 teachers were paid with only honorarium of Rp. 16.000,- per month, and would be paid every three months, it really touched the heart of the regional board of Muhammadiyah with the condition, but nonetheless it was still capable of to exist in producing cadre of clerics as heritance of the prophet.

Therefore, according to Alwi Uddin, the future of this boarding school was expected to be able to improve works and its management to renovate the educational process between information-technology based education and a spiritual-based education under the concept of Koran and it was expected the school could encourage its independency.
