MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Head of Social, Cultural, and Sports Board (LSBO) of Muhammadiyah Sukiyanto A.R. delivered a remark after a movie screening of ‘Jejak Langkah 2 Ulama’ (Milestones of 2 Islamic Scholars) conducted at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) on Tuesday (25/2). He expressed his gratitude to the deceased Shalahudin Wahid (Gus Sholah) who supported the film-making project.
Sukriyanto revealed that the initial idea to make a film telling K.H. Ahmad Dahlan and K.H. Hasyim Asy'ari began from a concern of phenomena that Muslims are now gradually getting far from teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
“I am personally worried that Islam, taught by Prophet Muhammad and continued to be disseminated by the two Islamic scholars, are now spread harshly. Thus, the film making was aimed at connecting dots instead of spotting differences. This film is for this nation’s interest. We realize that there may be shortage, and we wish that we could be better,” declared Sukriyanto.
Besides, he mentioned that public enthusiasm to watch the film is high. Since last month, there have been a great number of people from various areas of Indonesia would like to watch the film illustrating struggles of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan and K.H. Hasyim Asyari for the religion and nation.
