Untag's Comparising Study to UMM

           Rector of University of 17 Augustus 1945 (Untag) Samarinda Prof. Dr. Soegiarto K. Eddy, MM, accompanied by its Vice Rector I Ir. H. Hidayah Abdul Kholik, MP and Vice Rector II Benny Mochtar, EA visited University of Malang (UMM), Monday (4/26). UMM Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Sujono, M. Kes with Head of UMM Public Relations warmly welcomed the arrival in Sujono’s office at 10:30 am.

After sharing with UMM Vice Rector I, the delegation continued visiting ICT Centre, Badan Kendali Mutu Akademik (BKMA), UMM Press, Language Center (LC), UMM Library, and Pusat Listrik Tenaga Micro-Hydro. Rector of Untag stated, the purpose of visiting those offices was to broaden the horizon of Untag Samarinda in terms of IT and academic management. "I know that UMM has now become the most advanced private university in Indonesia," he said.

The existence of UMM as an IT-based campus impressed the Rector of Untag. For this reason, the Rector hoped that in there would be more cooperations between Untag Samarinda and UMM. The cooperation needed by Untag Samarinda today is related to the management and development of IT, particularly those which are related to academic affairs.

Sujono said, UMM could cooperate with any community. "The cooperation will be more directed at the provision of Human Resources from UMM who are competent in the field of IT, especially the cooperation with the alumni," said the Vice Rector I of UMM. (zpd/trs/t_ris)
