UMM Holds Pre-Muktamar Seminar

Welcoming 47th Muktamar Muhammadiyah in Makassar during August 3rd – 7th 2015, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) will hold Pra-Muktamar Seminar themed “Dinamisasi Gerakan Muhammadiyah Berbasis Komunitas dan Amal Usaha”. The seminar will be held on Tuesday (31/3) in BAU Hall.

            Chief committee Dr. Moh Nurhakim explained that his seminar was Muhammadiyah intellectual tradition. Beside UMM, this seminar will also be held in other 23 Muhammadiyah universities.

            In UMM, said him, this seminar would be focused on Muhammadiyah charity development. “It becomes our concern since this university is mainly regarded as one of best Muhammadiyah charities,” said him, a Rector Assistant in Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah Studies.

            Continuing, results of this seminar would become recommendation for succeeding conference (Muktamar, red). “Therefore, in this seminar UMM will diagnose and figure out any problem, analyze it, and hence propose solution,” said Nurhakim. 

            The seminar will present many Muhammadiyah experts such as: Prof. Dr. Fauzan Saleh, Prof. Dr. Syamsul Arifin, Prof. Dr. Achmad Jainuri, Dr. Hilman Latief. UMM Rector Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP and Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Board (PP) Dr. Haedar Nashir will also contribute in this seminar. By the end of seminar, Nurhakim as chief committee will deliver statement of recommendation based on seminar results.

            Beside UMM, other Muhammadiyah universities also hold same seminar. They are: University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, STIKES Aisyiyah Yogyakarta, University of Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya, University of Muhammadiyah Sumatra Utara, University of Muhammadiyah Banda Aceh, University of Muhammadiyah Sorong, University of Muhammadiyah Maluku Utara, University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya, University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka, University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta, and IKIP Muhammadiyah Maumere.

            “Each university will raise different themes. They are to think seriously about current and future Muhammadiyah,” he ended. (nis/han/t_stu)
