Jamroji and Arum Martikasari share the story behind the creative work of Branding village in Matos Campus Expo
Who doesn't know the famous of Jodipan Colorful Village in Malang City? This thematic village was initiated by students from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) inspired various parties to take part in transforming their area into an attractive tourist destination.
Has not yet finished the project of 'Discover Gresik', which is a branding project of five regions in Gresik Regency, Students of Communication Science UMM are again asked to manage the area of tourist complex at Jatim Park 3, Junrejo district, Batu city.
The request was received directly by the lecture of Communication Science, Jamroji, who was one of the figures behind the successful of Kampung Warna-Warni Jodipan (KWJ). The news was delivered by Jamroji Saturday (29/9).
The plan, starting from October 2018 later UMM and Jatim Park Group would integrate 89 houses in the southern area of Jatim Park 3 into an educational tourism area called “Green Village”. Collaborating nicely, this project will again collaborate with PT. Indana Paint as a paint provider company for KWJ.
"There are many requests for us to tranform their region into similar tourism objects as KWJ. Because each region has its own potential. It could even be more potential than Jodipan," added Arum Martikasari, lecture of Communication Science Program.
In addition to transform the village into colorful, hydroponic plants will also be given in each house, or cultivation by water without using soil. This technique emphasizes the fulfillment of nutritional needs for plants.
"Whatever they have done (practicum students, ed.) it based on research. The initiator just need to do research there for two weeks. From one house to others. Should get knowledge (insight) from there. Deliver the intent. Convey the intent of Indana, "said Arum.
Arum continued, each work is relevant to the practicum such as the presence of the KWJ area, the principle is constantly applied to cultivate potential. it's not bribed, but it's lured.
