“Agriculture potency is a potency that should be developed by Batu (KWB),” said Eddy Rumpoko in his scientific speech. “Batu development as International tourism town should be based on organic-agriculture”.
Previously, Batu town focused on tourism. “Despite the limited area, under population less than 200 thousand people, the tourists visiting Batu are more than 4 million people. Let alone, UMM students might come to Batu square every Saturday-Sunday,” explained him in front of 1.377 graduates.
Cooperation between Batu Local Government and UMM aims to formalize previous programs. “UMM is indeed a strategic partner to develop Batu in terms of tourism, organic-agriculture, and education,” he continued.
Due to this cooperation, he added, it will surely increase Batu economy. “Half of our land remains forest, 20 percent field. We will develop them to support local economy,” he ended. (zul/han/t_stu)
