THE MINISTRY of Social Affairs of Republic of Indonesia (Kemensos RI) collaborated with the Univesity of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) in developing the Independent Prosperous Village (DSM). It is delivered by the Director of Family Enforcement and Social Institution Drs. Hasbullah, M.Si in the Socialization and Assessment of DSM Model Development at BAU Hall, UMM, Monday (15/6).
“DSM is one of the strategic programs of Kemensos which is the implementation of Nawacita - a Sanskrit term for nine programs - authored by the President and Vice President with the synergy of all components,” said Hasbullah.
Previously, the DSM program, known as “Productive Village’, was organized by the Ministry of Industry. Besides, there was also ‘Coastal Village’ organized by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. “this village is the combination of all the villages which is simultaneously organized by Kemensos,” he said in front of 200 coordinators and group secretaries of Field Work Experience (KKN).
The synergy between Kemensos, Stakeholders, and Universities (PT) can accelerate the realization of DSM. “Most of PTs have the KKN program annually. Through KKN program, it is expected that the villages can be independent and prosperous by accentuating local wisdom, said Hasbullah.
Meanwhile, the Head of Division of Community Service and KKN Drs Amir Syarifudin, MP said that the socialization is important to enhance the insight of KKN students in arranging programs of community service. “Let’s say that the Kemensos has the program, but it’s obvious that they lack in human resources. Well, this PT offers what they need through KKN program. By KKN, all the programs designed by Kemensos can be realized,” he said.KKN of UMM will be held on July 27 - August 25. More than 4200 participants will be sent to serve the community in around 130 villages in East Java. (Zul/han/t_far)
