THE DORMITORIES (Rusunawa) of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) drew the attention of State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. During the comparative study conducted in Rusunawa II on Thursday (8/10), the UIN team praised the buildings’ management, especially for the control on occupants.
“P2KK (The Program for the Development of Personality and Leadership) ia an interesting program. There is no such training in UIN Jakarta,” said Sholeh Hasan, the counselor of male dormitory of UIN Jakarta.
According to him, through P2KK, students will develop better personality. “We will try to emulate this training,” he informed.
UMM Dormitories were built in 2008. The Second Class Adiupaya Puritama Award was given to Rusunawa I in 2010 and to Rusunawa II in 2012.
The Head of Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Rusunawa UMM Drs. H. Katino Wihatmo, M.M. said that those awards are the prove of UMM commitment in managing the Rusunawa. “Through this comparative study, we can learn on each other in determining the suitable management model for campus so that students can adjust the environment comfortably,” he said.
