The Commissioner of Bank Central Asia (BCA), Cyrillus Harinowo became the keynote speaker on guest lecture held by Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on Thursday (20/11). By holding a theme “Indonesian Economy in Global Perspective”, this guest lecture was expected to give information about global economy.
“The two most strategic logistic points in this world is in China and Indonesia precisely in Java”. It means that Indonesia starts to take control of the economy in the world. One of the most dominant factors is the total of population and the Indonesia geographic which is flanked by two continents and two oceans. “Indonesia government seriously builds infrastructures to facilitate the rotation of the domestic economy”. For instance, it only takes two days to send logistic delivery from Pontianak to East Kalimantan. Today, many rotate areas are starting to build and develop.
Harinowo predicts that Indonesia economy will grow rapidly. “The research done by PWC Analysist shows that in 2016, Indonesia ranked the 8th for the global economy. In 2017, it was in 7th rank, and it is predicted that in 2050, Indonesia will rank the 4th”.
Harinowo is hoping that UMM students get ready to get involved in increasing the Indonesian economy globally. Furthermore, BCA officially opened BCA Corner at UMM Central Library witnessed by Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd as the Rector of UMM. This opening was preceded by opening a cone done by Cyrillus Harinowo and Fauzan.
