|Sharing: Street photographer, Paul Zakaria as sharing many tips related to street approach for handphone photography before audiences in theater room, UMM Dome.|
Journalistic Photography Club (JUFOC) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held photography seminar for celebrating their 25th Anniversary. This unit, which is one of autonomous unit in Faculty of Social and Political Studies (FISIP) UMM, held this event in theater room, UMM Dome on Tuesday (3/3).
Under theme “Street Photography”, the seminar covered by contest of hand phone photography invited the author of book “Street Photography dengan Ponsel” Paul Zakaria. Accordingly, hand phone was not only functioned as communication tool. Camera feature of this phone could be utilized as photography affairs. “Photographing by using hand phone could open the world,” said him.
Adding, he also stated that street photography was a society reflection by revealing realistic situation. Subjects were not aware that they had been recorded. “Subject was uniquely photographed. Spontaneous moment, very unique,” he added.
The seminar was attended by young generation of JUFOC term 2014, delegations of many photography communities and clubs from many cities, such as Student Photography Communication Forum (Forkom) Semarang, Forkom Jogjakarta, Focus University of Sebelas Maret (UNS), University of Lambung Mangkurat (Unlam) Banjarmasin, Student’s Activities Unit (UKM) Prisma Photography University of Diponegoro (Undip) Semarang, and UKM G-Poc University of Gajayana Malang.
For hand phone photography contest, there were three winners. First winner was Imam Munandar receiving first prize: pocket camera and shopping voucher. Meanwhile, second and third winners were Aji Susanto and Ais Iqbal receiving shopping vouchers respectively. (rhe/zul/han/t_stu)
