The synergy among academic communities is important to establish good academic environment in a university. That is why Public Relations UMM, New Student Admission Technical Unit (UPT-PMB), and Information and Communication Office (Infokom) of UMM are trying to strengthen the synergy of Public Relations of every faculty and study programs by holding a workshop entitled “Synergy Branding Workshop for Faculties, Study Programs, and University” on Tuesday (20/2) at the Conference Room of GKB IV.
Vice Rector II of UMM, Nazarudin Malik welcomed this workshop pleasantly. In his speech, Nazar asserted that every branding content which is created by Public relations of study programs, faculties, and universities have to synergize each other and contain Islamic culture within. He said, “The branding which is established must be compatible with the human resources. So, there won’t be imbalance between the two things”.
The Head of Public Relations of UMM, Joko Susilo said that the public relations of every faculty and study program will be trained how to manage the website. This is intended that the PR of faculties and study programs will be more active and more creative in managing their websites. Joko said, “This workshop is held to cover the information that cannot be uploaded on the university website. According to survey that is done by UMM Public relations, it is found that more than 40 percent people look for the information about UMM through website”.
Moreover, it was an explanation about website basic management explained by the Head of Information and Communication office, Suyatno and the Head of UPT PMB who explained about how to provide information especially which is related to new students. (lus)
