Secretary of Malang at UMM: We Must Be Able to Provide Innovation

"We know that in Malang city has a lot of thematic villages, which started from colourful villages and inspired the birth of thematic villages in Malang. I think, we as citizens, communities and students must be able to read the needs needed and provide innovations that have a good impact on our environment, "said the Secretary of the City of Malang, Drs. Wasto, SH, MH.

Wasto continued, that government innovation and the ability to adapt to the support of all elements of society was a necessity, not an option for government organizations to be more responsive to change.

"The implementation of E-Government must be carried out massively by preparing a capable data and network infrastructure. And prepare a skilled human resource infrastructure and have high information technology literacy, "explained Dr. Nuryanti Mustari, M.Sc from Makassar Muhammadiyah University.

In addition, according to Nuryati, there were also five dimensions needed in Learning Organization which started from System Thinking, Personal Mastery, Mental Model, shared vision, and creating learning groups or Team Learning.

While at the same event, at the National Symposium with the theme of the Challenges of Government Administration in the Era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, Dr. Ria Angin, M.Si from the University of Muhammadiyah Jember explained about the influence of the gender gap which was still a problem. Based on data from the 2017 Gender Gap Index, Indonesia ranked 9th while in the world ranks 84th.

The agenda was held by the Muhammadiyah Higher Education Government Association (AIPPTM), the Association of Indonesian Government Lecturers (ADIPSI) and the UMM Government Science. And it was followed by 18 universities both public and private.

"The symposium actually coincided with four activities namely, the national symposium, the percentage of students' scientific work related to Government Science, National Seminars, and data-based research training.
