After been dreamed for so long, finally the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has a Football Academy. The academy was launched at UMM Soccer Field on Monday (11/16). The academy which was divided into 3 age groups namely U-10 years, U-15 years, and U-18 years, was inaugurated by UMM Rector Dr. Fauzan. Each age group has a different curriculum.
"The material of the U-10 group is usually given to play soccer which makes them happy. The material for the U-15 age group is about the basic techniques of playing football. While the U-18 age group material is about basic techniques and ethics in playing soccer," said the Head of Academy Dr. Haris, SH., M.Hum. in the field.
Encouraged by the significant growth of the younger generation and seeing the development of football that continues to experience a sharp increase, UMM strives to present the emergence of young people who have the potential to gain knowledge and direct it academically in a sustainable manner. Hopefully, it can produce superior footballers.
UMM Rector Fauzan revealed that UMM has been operating at the tertiary level and has a very representative sports facility to open academies so far, especially football.
