In its five-year-operating, UMM Inn was hoped could be a business centre which could support UMM. It was stated by Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP, the Rector, Wednesday (3/31), while in monthly muhasabah in UMM Inn hall. “Basically, its management is not under UMM management. Since it is one of UMM units, it should be a campus profit centre," said the Rector.
He explained further that UMM could be a big university because of the employees' full-service and honesty. Five-years-experience in handling a hotel should make it able to provide best service to UMM. In that relax situation, the Rector told five things to 47 employees who were present.
As a professional hotel, all its elements should improve the serious management in work. "I hope, these five years experiences can make UMM Inn serves the customers best service, but still profit-oriented. Improving the service here does not mean that we should give something free to the customers. IWe are not a social institution," said Muhadjir. Talking about the profit, it needed an accurate calculation in terms of investation and good evaluation system.
Then the Rector told them about the importance of having respect to work-partners. He also told to pray in-time, because it was such an identity for UMM employees. And the last thing he told to the employees was about their work. He hoped they could improve their works. Of course it should be followed by UMM Inn management as a profitable business unit.
