Genetro Suryo Electric Car UMM strolled into Shell Eco-Marathon Asia

The development of electric car industry in the last decade is continually increasing. It backs on some universities to compete in creating an electric car. University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) as an eco-energy campus also contributed in the development of modern transportation industry.
After successfully occupying the top four national rankings in the competition of Energy Efficient Car Competition (KMHE) held by the Ministry of Research and Technology of Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) 2017. Sang Surya Eco Energy Team UMM is ready to pitch in Shell Eco-Marathon Asia event in Singapore 8- March 11, 2018.
In this match, Sang Surya Eco Energy Team consisted of eight students of Faculty of Engineering (FT) who has set up a special team to conduct research in the field of electricity as a strategy to produce perfect performance.
"Yesterday, the electricity team was really prepared to learn about the obstacles in the car," explained Team Leader Renggi Ahmad Rimeldi.
Specially designed, Gentro Suryo electric car has the advantage of driving capacity for 2.5 to 3 hours in a single charge battery. This makes the car is included as very energy-efficient electric fuel.
"This car has now been enhanced by adding battery capacity for longer car trips," added the member of Syarul Surur Electric Division.
According to LSO coach Mecatron, Jufri, in this competition, Gentro Suryo already is ready enough . He stated that this car will be UMM pride electric car.
"The compactness and mental champions possessed by the team make the performance of this extraordinary car," he said.
On the occasion of Grand Launching Sang Surya Energy Team, UMM Rector Fauzan advised the team members not to stop in innovating, especially for the development of this electric car.
"Do not ever stop innovating for the continuation of this electric car," said Fauzan, in the BAU Hall Wednesday (28/2).
Shell Eco-Marathon Asia is an annual event sponsored by Shell where all participants compete to create a special vehicle that can perform fuel efficiency. (ard)
