UMM Students Become the Delegates of International Physiotherapy Congress

The good news came from the Health Faculty of Physiotherapy Study Program (Fikes) at University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Four students and a lecturer in Physiotherapy Study Program Fikes UMM represented Indonesia in the 9th Asia Physical Therapy Student Association Congress 2018 held at the University of Batangas, Batangas, Philippines on (17-20 / 8).

This year, Indonesian Physiotherapy Student Association (IMFI / IPSA) delegated 9 people. They were 1 advisor who is also a lecturer of Physiotherapy Study Program at UMM Fikes, 4 Physiotherapy Study Program students from UMM, 2 students from Udayana University of Bali, 1 student from Dhyana Pura Bali University and a student from University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta.

UMM Students namely Achmad Mabrur, Bayu Lazuardi W., Efanisa Eka Yulia, Nazla Syifa Sabila are 2016 Physiotherapy Study Program students who are IMFI members. Also, an advisor of Asia Physical Therapy Student Association (APTSA) is a lecturer in the Health Faculty (FIKES) Physiotherapy Study Program, Ali Multazam, S.Ft., Physio., M.Sc.

"Until today, there are 11 countries of APTSA members, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand," Ali Multazam said on Tuesday (8/28).

In addition, APTSA has also collaborated with countries in Europe, Africa, Australia and America. Every year, student exchange programs are held in these countries.

In Philippines, the nine delegates participated in various activities. One of them was each state delegation presented the development of physiotherapy in their respective countries, including academic processes and systems, available insurance, legality processes and rules governing physiotherapy in each country, as well as physiotherapy treatments that are trending or developing in each country.

In addition to being busy with a series of congress activities, at one of the events namely cultural night, each country presented their respective cultures. Indonesia performed a Balinese Puspanjali dance and was continued by singing Indonesian Pusaka songs and Maumere dancing. "The participants from other countries were very happy with the Indonesian performances. They even danced together," said Ali. (UMM Public Relations)

Kabar membanggakan datang dari Program Studi (Prodi) Fisioterapi Fakultas Kesehatan (Fikes) Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Empat mahasiswa beserta seorang dosen Prodi Fisioterapi Fikes UMM mewakili Indonesia dalam The 9th Asia Physical Therapy Student Association Congress 2018 atau Kongres Asosiasi Mahasiswa Fisioterapi Internasional ke-9 yang digelar di University of Batangas, Batangas, Filipina pada (17-20/8). 
 
Tahun ini Ikatan Mahasiswa Fisioterapi Indonesia/ Indonesia Physiotherapy Student Association (IMFI/IPSA) mendelegasikan 9 orang. 1 orang advisor yang juga merupakan dosen Prodi Fisioterapi Fikes UMM, 4 orang mahasiswa Prodi Fisioterapi dari UMM, 2 orang mahasiswa dari Universitas Udayana Bali, 1 orang mahasiswa dri Universitas Dhyana Pura Bali dan 1 orang mahasiswa dari Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta.
 
Mahasiswa dari UMM sendiri yakni Achmad Mabrur, Bayu Lazuardi W., Efanisa Eka Yulia, Nazla Syifa Sabila merupakan mahasiswa Prodi Fisioterapi angkatan 2016 yang tergabung dalam keanggotaan IMFI. Serta, seorang advisor (penasihat) Asia Physical Therapy Student Association (APTSA) yang juga merupakan dosen prodi Fisioterapi Fakultas Kesehatan (FIKES) Ali Multazam, S.Ft., Physio., M.Sc. 
 
“Sampai saat ini, tercatat ada 11 negara yang menjadi anggota dri APTSA diantaranya Hongkong, Indonesia, Jepang, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Filipina, Singapura, Korea Selatan, Taiwan, dan Thailand,” terang Ali Multazam Selasa (28/8)
 
Selain itu, APTSA juga sudah melakukan kerjasama dengan negara-negara di wilayah Eropa, Afrika, Australia, dan Amerika. Setiap tahunnya diadakan juga student exchange atau program pertukaran pelajar ke negara-negara tersebut.
 
Di Filipinina, kesembilan delegasi ini mengikuti beragam kegiatan. Salah satunya, setiap delegasi negara mempresentasikan perkembangan fisioterapi di negara masing-masing, termasuk proses dan sistem akademik, asuransi yang tersedia, proses legalitas dan aturan-aturan yang mengatur fisioterapi di setiap negara, serta penanganan-penanganan fisioterapi yang sedang tren atau berkembang di setiap negara. 
 
Selain disibukkan dengan rangkaian kegiatan kongres, pada salah satu acara yakni cultural night, setiap negara mempresentasikan budayanya masing-masing. Indonesia sendiri menampilkan tarian Bali Puspanjali kemudian dilanjut dengan menyayikan lagu Indonesia Pusaka dan dilanjutkan dengan menari Maumere. “Para peserta dari negara lain sangat senang dengan penampilan Indonesia, bahkan mereka langsung ikut menari bersama,” pungkas Ali.
