|UMM Communication Students, Maharina Novi and Fuji Suhroni, were receiving the Best Campus Event and Best Media Platform.|
STUDENTS of Communication Studies at University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) bought up three awards at the event of Social Media Day Award 2016, Monday (9/26). The awards won were the most creative Media Platform category by rencang Makaryo Team, Campus Event Favorite by Social Media Team of Kommaksi Festival and the most Favorite Social Media by UMM Story Team. Socmed Day Award 2016 was held by Malang Events Media Network in the framework of the second Anniversary.
"With this event, we felt appreciated and society also felt that way, especially young Malang who became know our works, Student Communication UMM," said Maharina Novia Zahro, Chairman of Social Media Festival who was one of the Kommaksi events 2016.
Maharina added that, in this event, UMM Student Communications was proven excel in their field. "Obviously proven, from six nominations, we can get three awards, hopefully in the future could continue working."
Moreover, a number of UMM students also received special awards, namely the special achievement for community inspirational, achieved by the group of Guys Pro UMM as an initiator Jodipan Tourism Village, as well as students of UMM Communication, Hena Wirasatya, as an inspirational social media figure.
The success and the work of UMM Communication students could not be separated from the guidance and support from the lecturers. According to the chairman of UMM Communication, Sugeng Winarno, students must be able to work obviously through routine activities carried out, such as Kommaksi. Kommaksi was an event held annually Communication Laboratory and directly organized by UMM Communication students.
In the event, the whole students’ work of Communication of Public Relations, Journalism and Audio Visual were exhibited and appreciated through the award-perhargaan. Selain was also a performing arts as well as Social Media Festival. "Not only that, we also asks UMM Communication students to focus on the interest areas so that they can work in a professional manner," said Sugeng.
Head of UMM Communication Laboratory, Jamroji, was also proud on the awards earned. "If there are campus events, as much as possible we empower our students’ skills, so that students are better
trained and have more mature skills."
Jamroji then pointed rencang Makaryo winning The Best Media Platform award. The success of Rencang Makaryo could not be separated from efforts to involve students in campus projects.
"We are often included in campus projects, such as Pesmaba Documentation, Inauguration Jodipan Documentation, and so on," said Fuji Suchroni, one of Rencang Makaryo member.
This event was held in RRI Malang Studio. The nominator was supported through voting via online with hashtag #2NuhatAcaraMalang. Nominations consisted of the most Favorite Selebgram, Favorite Community, School Event Favorite, the most creative Media Platform, Social Media and the most Favorite Campus Event. The nominees have been assessed by the Malang Event Team during the last
three months. "Hopefully this event can become a means of strengthening the youth event Malang in Malang, we can work together in the future," said Diva, founder Malang Events Media Network. (Fid / han)
