UMM Economic Development Students Won National Level Investment Video Competition, Defeated UI and UGM

INVESTMENT is still a strange thing for young people today. Many young people consider that investment is only done when it is established or already been entrepreneur. In fact, in the present era anyone can invest easily, safely and profitably.

Therefore, Ratih, a student of Economic Development Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (FEB UMM) won an award on Week of Stock 2018. In the event held by Surabaya State University (Unesa), (28/9), Ratih and her teammate, Andreas Marcela, won the 1st place in the Investment Video Competition.

To be the champion in this race, Ratih prepared in advance in terms of mental and also knowledge. She claimed to have been upset because she knew her competitors were from reputable universities, such as UI and UGM. In addition, before participating in the competition, she also conducted research on investments among young people. Her research was applied in the form of 1-minute video campaign.

According to this third semester student, investment is not only done by businessmen. Students can also start investing since in college. The most appropriate investment for young people, explained Ratih, such as mutual funds, gold investment, buying shares and investment of education.

"The easiest is stock investment, because young people are now using Android. So it's easier to monitor stocks," she added. Not only inviting young people to invest, I'm Ratih, right now it's really like investing in gold.

In her daily life, she always monitors the price of gold, to support her investment activities. "For today's young people who have also invested, let us increase our economy to be more advanced. And for those who haven't, investment is not only for entrepreneurs, we as a student also need to invest from now on," she said. (ard)
