Foreign Students Take Part in KKN

GELOMBANG DUA: Sebanyak 1600 mahasiswa saat mengikutipelepasan peserta KKN yang diberangkatkan langsung  oleh Rektor Prof Dr Muhadjir Effendy MAP di Dome UMM.(15/1)

More than 1.600 students of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) participate in briefing of Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) term 2014-2015 held in UMM Dome, on Tuesday (14/1). KKN participants were divided into 49 groups that will dedicate toward society in many regencies throughout East Java.

          Among the participants, KKN this time is attended by eight foreign students from China, Thailand, and America. They gather with other local students in each group consisted of various faculties and departments.

          UMM Rector, Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy MAP stated that KKN was obligatory program that has to be participated by all UMM students before programming thesis. “It is expected to help remote areas in terms of both physical and non-physical supports,” said him.

          Moreover, Rector would give special supports for KKN group which could develop regency in concrete way such as establishing Kindergarten (TK).

          Head of Research and Community Service (DPPM) UMM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sujono M.Kes explained that KKN students were not only demanded to dedicate toward society but also provide a program that might be continued by local society regardless their monitoring and evaluation.

          “The advantage of program hence can be continued, even if they have gone,” Sujono ended. (ger/han)
