Had an Internship in PT Virama Karya, Students of Civil Engineering UMM prepared to be Consultant

Who says civil engineering frequently work in field? A civil engineering students could also work as a consultant. It was delivered by Director PT.Virama Karya  (PERSERO), Melany Legitasari, after signing memorandum of understanding  with University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Thursday (4/10).

"Consultant has a duty to give direction, consideration, or advisor in an event, “said Melany. She continued, the graduated of civil engineering have an opportunity to become a consultant development. 

To become a consultant, an expert should go through professional stages. Starting from youth engineer, next to expert, team leader, and so on. “At least have for about 16 years working experience to become a consultant, “Melany added.

Melany explain that PT. Virama Karya (PERSERO) is a consultant company which has specialization on technician services and transport management of roads and bridges. This company are run under Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN).

“A civil engineering graduates who have a great skill on implementing their civical engineering knowledge and managerial will needed to become development consultant,” she added.

Through signing partnership between two parties, students of civil engineering UMM have an opportunity to do an internship in PT. Virama Karya (PERSERO). In 2014, civil engineering UMM sent their two students to have a project internship in PT. Virama Karya. Which was in water supervision Umbulan, also in Detail Engineering Design (DED) at Jalan Lingkar Timur Sidoarjo.

UMM Rector, Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. hopes that the collaboration build between UMM and PT. Virama Karya (PERSERO) could be good utilize by UMM functionary also the students. (aan/can/sil/wid).
