UMM Agribusiness Laboratory Trained Students with Entrepreneurship Practices

The competition of the working world which is tighter makes the Agribusiness Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) seriously prepare the students to be able to compete and work through entrepreneurial opportunities. One of them was through the entrepreneurship bazaar which was held April 29-30 on the floor of 3.5 GKB 1 UMM.

Through the Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics Department of Agribusiness and Agropreneurship Forestry Department, the Agribusiness Laboratory invited students to practice entrepreneurship and manage bazaar events. The bazaar was managed by practicum students, starting from concept to evaluation.

"Previously, students had been provided with direct selling skills every week. And at the end, students are directed to study the target market's needs so that they can manage the event according to the target needs, "said Dr. Ir. Rahayu Relawati, MM., Head of the Agribusiness Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture Animal Husbandry (FPP).

With the theme "Garden Party", all products processed by agriculture and plantations, starting from food, beverages, accessories to cosmetics enliven the bazaar. There were seventy stands with details of 49 stands of Agribusiness Department and 21 stands of Forestry Department marketing their superior products.

"This activity is a place for us to be good entrepreneurs, train mentally, practice communication, and manage events. Not only conceptualizing a business but also we can go down directly to practice the knowledge we get, "said M. Arifiyan Suseno, student of Agribusiness Department as the Chairperson of the bazaar.

Furthermore, Ary Bakhtiar, SP. Msi, Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics said that through this event, FPP wanted to equip and shape the character of young entrepreneurs. "At the end of the event, we will conduct an evaluation. We will look for potential students and we will support capital loans, "said Ary. (Win)
