Chief of Wantimpres: Ready to Escort BEM Recommendation

Chief of Presidential Advisory Board (Wantimpres) Prof. Dr. Sri Adiningsih M.Sc as delivering Indonesia economy condition before students of FEB Java-Bali.

51st Anniversary series of Economy and Business Faculty (FEB) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was opened by General Lecture of Student’s Executive Board throughout Java-Bali lasting for three days form Tuesday to Thursday (12-14/5) in theater room, UMM Dome. Keynote speech was delivered by Presidential Advisory Board (Wantimpres) Prof. Dr. Sri Adiningsih, M.Sc.

            In her speech, Sri demanded that the results of this lecturing themed “Kontribusi Pemikiran Mahasiswa FEB se-Jawa Bali dalam Mewujudkan Kedaulatan Ekonomi Indonesia” could be immediately sent to her soon. “Send to me, I’d directly sent to President,” she said.

            Moreover, Sri explained that the discussed materials in this lecturing was indeed the main topic to discuss in various national forum. “What a wonderful idea to raise this such topic, I’d like to see your ideas soon,” she continued.

            Adding, current International economic integration is steadily increased so that economic dependency among countries grow bigger. Consequently, economic policies in each country might influence economic situation of other countries. It is named as free trade area.  

            In this occasion, she also delivered three main concerns defining Indonesia economic sovereignty: human development, competition development and national productivity, and economic independence. For her, it is impossible for Indonesia to compete in global market without human development. Accordingly, there are half of Indonesian workers graduated from primary education level.

            Therefore, she continued, cabinet currently proposes National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2015-2019 containing achievement targets in terms of education, health, resident, economy maritime, sanitation, food and energy sovereignty, industrial development, regional and income equalization.

            However, Sri admitted that all targets could not be achieved immediately. “Indeed, in this such beginning we would feel much burdens. Everything takes a process. Importantly, we have to maintain the improvements,” explained her.

            Confirming this statement, Dean of FEB Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Si explained that the most important thing is internal enforcement.

            Meanwhile, UMM Rector Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP stated that the presence of Chief of Presidential Advisory Board were relevant to the lecturing. “Serving as Chief of Presidential Advisory Board, she surely advises many ideas to President. Therefore, please be free to be president-like as you listen to her,” he said.

            Following up on this forum, Head of BEM FEB Firman Rato Rizky said that later recommendation was based on students’ ideas to realize the economy sovereignty.

            Apart from the lecturing, Anniversary series were enlivened by FEB Castle Project in June 1st, 2015 presenting Raisa (singer, red), Maliq D’Essentials, and Payung Teduh Band. It will also present FEB Bands, Ikabama, Indie Bands, Traditional and modern dances, standup comedy, beat box, and other performances. (han/t_stu)
