Ken Dedes Maria Kunthy was one of three students who were members of the Semi-Autonomous Institute (LSO) of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) who will compete in the United States on April 10. Amazingly, this student who was familiarly called Ken Dedes became the first woman to compete in the international robot event from UMM.
When testing robot the wheeled design category; MuForIna, Ken Dedes almost always spent a full day. "Before near the competition, the training that we did was increasingly massive," said the 2015 electrical engineering student who was the daughter of Totok Hadi Purwanto and Maria Wigati.
When asked about the process until the opportunity to compete at Trinity College Fire Fighting Home Robot Contest (TCFFHRC), Ken Dedes said that her journey was not easy. "Before joining the Robotics Team, I was asked to accompany and teach Muhammadiyah Elementary School children to study robots," she said when interviewed on Monday (8/4).

After that long period, with determination and sincerity, finally, Ken Dedes decided to join the team which consisted of these men and had the opportunity to design her own robot. When designing the MuForIna robot, Ken Dedes admitted being fully supported by her supervisors and comrades in a robotic LSO.
In America later, Ken Dedes will fight 32 teams from various countries. The teams consisted of various countries including Israel, Canada, China, the United Arab Emirates, Portugal and of course the host of the United States. With her design robot, she is optimistic she can obtain achievements like her predecessor. "It must be optimistic to win, as the Rector said at the release," she said.
During the event of the Academic exhibition of the Kebangsaan Festival II on April 6, Ken Dedes had the opportunity to have a brief conversation with the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla (JK). She got full support. JK had great hopes for the UMM robot team that will compete in America. "I’m really happy to get moral support from the Vice President," she said.
Being the first woman to take part in an international contest, Ken Dedes succeeded in proving that women can also perform like men. He hoped, in the future women can have the will and determination to make achievements. "While still in college. Come on! Of course, the proud ones will not only our parents but also campuses and Indonesia, "she said. (Win)
