Recommendation admission for studying in University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has been again opened. This admission is intentionally opened for achievement students whether in academic affairs (curricular) or interests and talents (co-curricular). It is opened from January 5th up to April 10th, 2015.
Head of Technical Management (UPT) Student Admission UMM, Dr. Ermanu Azizul Hakim MT stated that this recommendation admission was aimed to look for fresh students (Camaba) earlier and hence to meet great quality students.
“This selection is intentionally held before they graduate from senior high so that there will be more leading students enrolling into UMM. Students might choose all departments except medical science (FK)”, said him.
For those who enroll the recommendation admission through academic affairs, it is required having rapport average above 75.00 during first semester up to fifth semester. Especially for pharmacy department, besides above requirement it is conditioned to have at least 75.00 in both natural science (IPA) and Mathematic.
Meanwhile, for those enrolling through interests and talents (co-curricular) such as sport, art, scientific works or religion, it is required to hand appreciation charter or certificate in either City or District level. However, this admission is not assigned for pharmacy department.

Selection result of the recommendation admission will be announced at May 2nd, 2015. For those passing the first-phase selection, it is obligated to attend second-phase selection: interview during May 19th – 21st, 2015. For Health Science Faculty, besides attending interview phase, students should also attend medical test.
“Students accepted through the recommendation admission will get scholarship for first semester fee, except for Faculty of Health Science (FIKES). They will get scholarship for half-free first semester fee,” explained Ermanu.
In further explanation, he said that students who had not yet accepted in recommendation admission might enroll in regular admission opened in three periods. First period will be opened during March 9th – May 9th, second period during May 14th – August 1st, and last third period during August 6th – 29th, 2015. He specified that regular admission would be opened for all departments in 10 faculties and 1 post-graduate directorate. (han/t_stu)
