Higher Education Service Board (LLDikti) collaborates with University of Muhammadiyah Malang train student affairs from 37 universities in East Java to welcome industrial revolution era 4.0 through PP-OPPEK. PP-OPPEK or Guidance Training for Student Assistance Development Orientation has four objectives, as mentioned by Widyo.
First, the university leaders and lecturers must be able to guide students to face industry 4.0. Second, they must educate students to be the best human resources with high quality yet adaptive. Third, every student affairs in a university must be creative in any fields. Forth, all higher educations must cooperate to synergize in any fields.
Dr.Widyo Winarso, M.Pd as the Secretary of LLDikti Region VII mentioned, “During the training, the entire policy formulations depend on the creativity of each university”.
Furthermore, Widyo explained that there is no standard to determine the student policy system. It is because each university is different, so the policy should be in accoedance with the condition of each university.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Syamsul Arifin, M.Si who is the Vice Rector I UMM revealed that it is so important to know deeper about industrial revolution era 4.0. According to Syamsul, talking about it, students nowadays have better understanding than teachers. “Students are not only taught about hard skills but also soft skills. Both are very important”.
The training is held for three days on Monday to Wednesday (17-19/12) in Royal Orchid Garden Hotel. By holding this agenda, it is expected that each university is able to develop better and be ready to welcome Industrial revolution era 4.0. (lus)
