For the past 5 years, Dr. Ihyaul Ulum was working in the intellectual capital world. In fact, he creates a size model of intellectual Capital (IC). His formula discovery named Modified Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (MVAIC). The function is to measure the performance of the organization with intellectual capital. “Because all this time (the intellectual capital, red.) is not measured,”
His ideas were published in an international journal of the United States (AS). MVAIC was registered the Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) in the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkumham). Moreover, he said that MVAIC model was used by many foreign researchers to measure the performance of some public company in Hong Kong, America, Australia, until London.
Not just find out a new MVAIC formula. In 2016, Ulum said that he publish a book with “Intellectual Capital: Measurement Model, Disclosure Framework & Organizational Performance” as the title. “This book was made with a passion to Indonesianization the issue of IC,” he said. Internationally, Ulum said that the studies about IC have been developed since the last 1990s. Including Indonesia.
For his dedication in developing science, in the National Education Day last 2nd May, Ulum rewarded as an Outstanding UMM Lecturer in 2019. The rewarding as an Outstanding UMM Lecturer was based on his work of Tri Dharma University, that is Teaching and Learning, Research and Publication, and also Dedication to the Society.
This yearly Outstanding UMM Lecturer selection event was adjusted with the agenda of outstanding lecturer in Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) level of Region VII and national. The selection is started at the university level. Ulum as the winner will represent UMM to compete in LLDIKTI level of Region VII. If selected, Ulum will represent LLDIKTI of Region VII at the national level.
To be known, in the National Level of Outstanding Lecturer in 2018, UMM has achieved a satisfying record. UMM Lecturer, Djoko Sigit Sayogo, Ph.D. became the First Winner in the finalist selection event of National Level of Outstanding Lecturer in the field of Social Humanities from the Research Ministry,Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenristekdikti RI).
