Faculty of Health Science University of Muhammadiyah Malang (Fikes-UMM) started to follow up the cooperation with its partner in various countries. After obtained visits and join program in UMM, this time Fikes UMM followed the program of staff and student exchange in Thailand. This activity was also followed by team of UMM hospital.
Dean of Fikes UMM Yoyok Bekti Prasetyo, M.Kep. Sp. Kom said this pogram is a follow up from MoU between Fikes UMM with Khon Kaen University Thailand last times ago. Thailand has sent lectures and students to UMM. Now Fikes UMM turn to send student of nursing, lectures and head of nursing field UMM Hospital to Khon Kaen University and Khon Kaen Hospital.
“There is credit transfer program for student for Community Nursing course, lectures giving lecturing, while UMM Hospital staff intern at the Hospital to share every experiences with local nurses,” said Yoyok. This program is run continuously and will continue next June.
One of UMM delegation, Nur Lailatul Masruroh, MNS, optimistic the exchange of knowledge and experience with Thailand is right. “Nursing education, especially Community Nursing already very well established in Thailand,” said the graduate of Kasertrat University Thailand who asked as head of UMM delegation.
Furthermore explained, for a month in Thailand, UMM student will receive courses at international class with lectures from Thailand, china and Malaysia. In addition, they also will conduct case study and visit study which is companied by experts.
Contacted by phone, head of nursing UMM hospital who will participate to Thailand, Tiwuk Heriyati, Skep, Ners said sharing with Head of Nursing Research Khon Kaen Hospital Thailand, produced a lot of experiences. There are how to develop education hospital base of research or evidence based practice.
Next time, said Yoyok, Fikes UMM also will follow up cooperation with Kasetsart Bangkok University, National Cheng Kung University of Taiwan, and Angeles University Foundation Filipina. “We begin goes to ASEAN first for preparation to face AEC,” he continued. Not only nursing, Physiotherapy, and Pharmacy also included to cooperation scheme.
On the other side, Fikes UMM also ready to accept the presence of lectures and foreign students. “The consequence of this cooperation we must be ready to receive them for study or internship here,” said of International Relationship Unit of Fikes UMM Edy Purwanti, MNg who is also the alumni Faculty of Nursing Flinders University Australia.
