The 2nd National Festival of UMM was Opened by Vice President Jusuf Kalla

Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. (H.C.) Drs. H. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla (JK) attended the second time of the National Festival of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on Saturday (6/4), this morning. Jusuf Kalla was present at the UMM Dome Hall to open the Diversity event, also inaugurated five new infrastructures in the White Campus, UMM.

"Our presence in the second National Festival in the context of revitalizing the national vision in a country destined by Allah subhanahuwata'ala, had a different population," said the UMM Rector. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. in his speech in thousands of students and invitations from various elements of society and religious background.

The second event was deliberately included in the agenda of the inauguration of the construction of Gedung Kuliah Bersama (GKB) IV, Hotel Kapal Garden, two bridges, and Rumah Susun Sederhana Sewa (Rusunawa). The building of two bridges and one Rusunawa was government assistance through the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia (PUPR RI).

The existence of higher education institutions must be a driving variable in caring for the traditions of the brothers, in the midst of the plurality between us. "The University of Muhammadiyah Malang has long been aware of that role. Based on that, the second National Festival was presented on this campus, "said the Rector Fauzan, greeted by loud applause from the audience.

UMM had had a motto; from Muhammadiyah for the Nation. This motto, continued Fauzan, contained the spirit that what was strived by UMM must be felt by all groups of people on this earth. "No matter how small the UMM produces, it is encouraged to have the power to benefit the community, including research products," he said.

Therefore, on this occasion, there were also research products for students and lecturers, both from UMM and other Muhammadiyah universities. The research product show was intended to introduce business people and business people to respond. Vice President Jusuf Kalla also saw the various research products after officially opening the National Festival II.

The event was organized and supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendikbud RI), Chinese Indonesian Association (INTI), business actors and owners, and the Christian Church Consultative Body in Malang. Besides students that attended the event, there were religious leaders, ethnic leaders, organizational leaders, and government officials. (Win)
