There is at least 2.21 billion tons of global waste every year. This global waste flows to the ocean and makes it dirty. Nowadays, there are many companies bringing green company concept that makes waste generation more efficient and effective. It is known as Zero Waste Concept.

Zero Waste is a concept which products or waste can be reproduced. This concept is important for industrial system related to industrial engineering.

Considering this, Industrial Engineering study program University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) presented a lecturer from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology Poland, Dr.inz. Emilia den Boer on Wednesday (25/10) on Guest Lecture with the material Waste Management and Technology.

Emilia explained that there are several factors affected waste generation in Indonesia, such as the economic growth high rate, fruit season, lifestyle, mobility, and food. “Indonesia generates 277kg/capita every year. That’s caused by those factors”.
