National Seminar: Himpaudi Throughout Indonesia Holds Seminar about Early Education Curriculum

SEMINAR: Nine thousand playgroup teachers throughout Indonesia as attending National Seminar of Early Education Curriculum 2015 in UMM Dome (14/3) 

UMM Dome, Saturday (14/3) was crowded by nine thousand playgroup teachers throughout Indonesia. They attended National Seminar of Playgroup Curriculum 2015 held by Association of Indonesian Playgroup Teachers (Himpaudi) East Java.

            The chief of this association as well as lecturer of Elementary Teacher Education Department (PGSD UMM) Dr. Siti Fatimah Soenaryo, M.Pd explained that this seminar was discussed about many things related to Playgroup curriculum starting from its substance, aspects review, and its implementation. “This seminar could become valuable reference for many playgroup teachers. We have to realize also that early education could determine a success in succeeding education level,” she said.

            Head of Kemendikbud Prof. Furqon stated that curriculum for early education should be dynamic for accommodating students. Accordingly, it was the important thing to confirm whether or not it had been well-managed. It was also aimed to prepare competent outcomes.

            Being predicted, said Furqon, in a future the need of skilled outcomes would be significantly increased. “Therefore, through this seminar it is expected to provide great outcomes,” he explained. In implementation phase, it is expected to give solution for these following problems: education access, education quality, and the increase of competent teachers. “The presence of all playgroup teachers here is one of those responses. We have to make sure that we have provided qualified service,” said Director General of Early and Civil Education Taufik Hanafi.

            Meanwhile, the staff of Himpaudi Chapter Bali Endah said she would surely implement it based on local culture. “Salute for UMM! They have held this such great national seminar,” said her.

            At the implementation level, this seminar was indeed involved college students: representatives from Students Association of Elementary Teacher Education (HMJ PGSD) UMM. “For us, this seminar is precisely appropriate. Through this seminar we know how the good curriculum for early education should be and how to implement it,” said Chief of HMJ PGDS Handoko. (dar/han/t_stu)
