Iftar with Media, UMM Invites the Directors of Business Unit

Pleasant: The Vice Rector II Fauzan friendly welcoming the media and directors of business units in iftar at UMM Inn, Thursday (9/7)

Warm and friendly atmosphere felt when the Vice Rector II University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Fauzan, delivering welcoming speech in iftar with university executive board and press throughout Malang Raya. In front of the guests, he expressed his sincere gratitude to all journalists and media leaders for their contribution in ‘raising’ UMM.

“Media could not be separated from the history of UMM until now. Therefore, it is important for UMM to keep good relationship with media”, he said.   

The iftar was participated by almost all of the local and national media representatives, among others are tvOne, MetroTv, MNC Group, Berita Satu, Batu TV, ATV, TVRI, NET, Indosiar, SCTV, CRtv, Kompas TV, detik.com, Antara, Suara Pembaruan, Republika, Radar Malang, Surya, Kompas, Malang Post, Malang Ekspres, Koran Pendidikan, RRI, and MAs FM. From umm, there was Vice Rector I Bambang Widagdo, Vice Rector II Diah Karmiyati, coordinator assistants, head of bureaus, and deans.

What is interesting this time is the participation of directors of UMM business units such as UMM Inn, Gas Station (SPBU) UMM Energy, UMM Yamaha Workshop, UMM Medical Center, UMM Hospital, UMM Farm, UMM Press, UMM Bookstore, UMM Dome, and UMM Sengkaling Park.

The Head of Public Relation of UMM, Nasrullah, said that the purpose of inviting the directors is to introduce them to media in order to prepare them conducting the media relations independently. “Media is the strategic partners of UMM especially for the business units. Therefore this gathering is the perfect moment to establish good relationship among each others,” he explained.

The iftar with media is the annual event of UMM every Ramadan. According to Widagdo, this event is one expression of gratitude for all the amenities gained by UMM. “We intended to share this gratitude with everyone, including our friends from media,” said Fauzan. Before the iftar, the event was began with the sermon by the dean of Islamic Faculty (FAI) UMM, Drs. Faridi, MSi. (zul/nas/t_far)
