KaCa car University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) did its activities again onThursday (26/7). Recently, the smart car invited students of SDN Wiyurejo 2 Pujon Malang to love the culturegmai especially traditional dance.
Under the guidance of Venska Natasha Olivia, Runner Up of Joko Roro Malang Regency in 2018, dozens of children dance gracefully. Venska is good at dancing. She taught basic techniques of Dance Gading Alit and Topeng Dance Bapang which is the original dance of Malang. Although it is not easy, students of Law Studies Program of UMM admitted happy to see the high enthusiasm of children.
"It's great to see the kids are very excited, but they have to be patient with the kids. From traditional dance, there must be a science and history that we can pick and use in life. Thus, children must still preserve the culture of the nation itself," said Indonesian Culture Ambassador in Tong Tong Fair in the Netherlands.
In cooperation with KKN 108 UMM with Field Supervisor (DPL) Luluk Dwi Kumalasari, a lecturer of Sociology UMM, KaCa Car also held various other activities. Wiyurejo Village Secretary, Muhammad Wahib, was pleased with KaCa Car which was a fresh breeze for the people in his place.
"It has never been like this before. The village has tried to facilitate the village library but it's minimal. This smart car makes children more interested especially there is movie entertainment, traditional games and others. Alhamdulillah, people are very welcome," explained Wahib.
Carrying the concept of "Fun Education", students of KKN 108 UMM tried to instill the values of education to children through various activities such as reading, watching movies to feel the traditional games. Deputy Village Coordinator KKN 108 UMM, Eka Aprilda Astrid, conveyed this activity is expected to raise awareness on children and society that reading is important.
"This activity aims to attract reading interest of children here and to support their character, because the interest in reading here is still lacking," said Astrid, who is also a student of Communication Studies UMM.
Fahma, one of 4th grade student of SDN Wiyurejo 2 Pujon was very happy to have the opportunity to learn dance with Venska. Moreover, both dance are her favorite dance. "It's my favorite dance, so happy," she said happily. (ard)
