Aisyiyah UMM Emphasizes the Importance of Islamic Work Ethic

PENGAJIAN UMUM: Pimpinan Cabang Aisyiyah (PCA) Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) saat memberikan pengajian umum kepada para dosen, karyawan, dan mahasiswa partime se- UMM menjelang berlangsungnya Muktamar Muhammadiyah dan ‘Aisyiyah ke-47 pada Agustus mendatang di aula BAU. (10/2)

Toward the event of 47th Muktamar Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah on next August, the head of Aisyiyah (PCA) University of Muhammadiyah Malang held general recitation for all academic community of UMM on Thursday (10/2) at BAU Hall UMM. This event was attended by lectures, employees, and part-time student around UMM. 

According to the chief of PCA UMM Dra Hj Romlah MAg, this general recitation also started the routine weekly recitation that will be started on February 27 to June 12, 2015. “All the series of recitation in addition to enliven Muktamar, also to build Islamic ethos in working on this campus,” she said.

The theme “Membangun Etos Kerja dalam Menggapai Insan Kamil”. The general recitation presenting  the Vice regional Chairman of ‘Aisyiyah (PWA) East Java Dra Siti Dalilah Candrawati MAg and Vice Regional Chairman of Muhammadiyah (PWM) East Java Drs Noer Cholis Huda MSi.

In her presentation, Dalilah reminded about the importance of working in Islam. “Islam is religion that hate to unemployment and laziness because it can shut off the physical and minds,” she said.

Dalilah also emphasized, because UMM is Muhammadiyah charitable business, so work in this campus also as part of ‘dakwah’ in the field of education regeneration. “It means work is not only for earning money but also for ‘Dakwah Persyarikatan’.”

Specifically for woman lectures and employees in UMM, Dalilah called to them as muballighot who carrying out the mission of amar makruf nahi mungkar as the generation who are ready to serve for persyarikatan.

Strengthening it, Noer Cholis said, in the work don’t forget to read bismillah.  Bismillah it means biso milah, the meaning can select which one is good and bad. It also means, a woman must understand its function, in office is work and in home taking care for family,” he said.

For Nur Cholis, such as worship, work also needs to be serious. Don’t let the body in office and mind in home or otherwise, body in home mind in office. “Therefore, the workplace must be fun, and all people who work must love their job. Don’t assume their job is unimportant things.” 

Meanwhile, Vice Rector III UMM Dr Diah Karmiyati Psi in her speech expected, Aisyiyah recitation can make woman lectures and staff in UMM has spirit to serve better. For her, it should be, doe to their workplace is education that the main task is serving.  (han/t_zuh)
