|PR III UMM Joko Widodo gives a briefing to 11 teams consisting of 37 UMM students who will attend PIMNAS in Bali
Today, Monday (7/19), 11 teams consisted of 37 UMM students left for Denpasar, Bali, to join National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) which will last for four days (7/20-23). Located at the University of Maha Saraswati, the eleven teams will have competition on knowledge with other teams from universities (PT) throughout Indonesia. This year of 2010, the total number of universities which succeeded joining PIMNAS was 119 from 224 universities which got funding from Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti).
This year, UMM is in the 8th rank for most-funded university. Meanwhile, for PIMNAS, UMM is in the 6th rank. It meansthat for four consecutive years UMM surviving top ten. UMM is the most outstanding university in the event.
Categories contested in PIMNAS include Entrepreneurship Student Creativity Program (PKMK), Community Service Student Creativity Program (PKMM), Student Scientific Creativity Program (PKMI), Technology Student Creativity Program (PKMT) and the idea of Written Student Creativity Program (PKMGT).
"I hope that all the teams can perform excellently, confidently and can bring good image to campus," said Joko Widodo as Vice Rector III when he gave briefing to the whole UMM teams. Just like on the previous years, this time Joko Widodo and Vice Dean (PD) III of the entire faculty will accompany the participants participated from beginning to the end of PIMNAS. "Beside material support, participants need more on moral support from all parties, including from our own campus officials," added PR III. (trs/jss/t_alf)
